| Know how in technology and sales expertise - the ideal combination. This is the common objective of Fries Research & Technology (FRT) und Euris Semiconductor Equipment Services. Both companies announced today that they will sign a cooperation agreement at this year's Semicon Europa 2008. Especially manufacturers in the semiconductor, MEMS and photovoltaic industries will benefit from this: "With our new partnership, FRT surface metrology systems will be even more prevalent in our target markets", highlights Thomas Fries, CEO of the German specialist for surface metrology systems.
Each partner brings individual expertise into the cooperation
For more than ten years, Euris has been a well known partner for capital equipment sales and support to the semiconductor industry. By offering not only field-services but also the distribution of consumables, Euris is established in most of the fabs throughout Europe. Moreover, Euris offers complementary technologies. This is where the cooperation with FRT starts. "Surface metrology systems from FRT are a perfect strategic fit to upvalue our current product portfolio" states Guy Salabert, CEO of Euris. "Now we can meet the demands of our customers with ideal one-stop solutions." To support the cooperation, sales and technical staff from Euris received special training at FRT's headquarters in Bergisch Gladbach. This will offer a comprehensive product experience when it comes to FRT technology.
FRT is a technology market leader in the field of non-destructive surface metrology. The product portfolio comprises of table top metrology tools up to fully automated inspection systems for the wafer fab. FRT metrology tools measure film thickness, topography, structure, step height, roughness, TTV, abrasion and many other parameters. FRT expects from the cooperation a significantly higher market share and double-digit growth rates in the semiconductor segment. Additionally, both companies agreed to intensify their joint activities in the growing MEMS and PV markets.
